  • Cuttable to any tent floor, which is the only honest answer to a universal sheet that has to end up smaller than the tent
  • Tyvek is a genuinely different material from the coated polyesters on this shelf, and the listing names it plainly
  • No weight, on a sheet whose first bullet is that it is very light

Best for: Cutting a footprint to your own tent floor exactly, on any tent, and accepting that the finishing is left to you.

What this listing puts on record

A Tyvek floorsheet of 150 by 220 cm from Tatonka, stated to be very light, waterproof and free of PFC and PFAS. It has no sewn edges, and the listing states this is so it can be cut to whatever size you want. A minimal pack size is claimed.

The design decision is the specification

Every other universal sheet in this hub gives you a rectangle and hopes it lands inside your tent floor. This one gives you a rectangle and tells you to trim it.

No sewn edges is not a corner cut. It is the reason the sheet works with any tent: the finishing is left off because you are going to remove it anyway.

What Tyvek is, and why the denier line is blank

Tyvek is a bonded sheet of fine polyethylene fibres, not a woven cloth. Denier measures the weight of a yarn, and there is no yarn to measure. That is why the fabric line above reads as it does rather than being left empty — the question does not apply to this material.

The same reasoning is why it does not fray at a cut edge.

Two claims without their numbers

Very light, with no gramme figure. Waterproof, with no millimetre figure. Both are stated in the bullets, neither is measured, and both are exactly the figures the rest of this hub is compared on.

What you take on

No eyelets, no loops, nothing to peg. Once cut, the sheet is held down by the tent standing on it. That is normal for a footprint and it is worth knowing before it is unrolled in wind.
