Legal basis
Your IP address and your approximate country are processed as each page loads, and the basis for that is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: a page cannot reach you at all without an IP address, and without the country we cannot point a "Check price" button at the Amazon store that actually sells the stove or the sleeping bag you are reading about. No interest beyond those two is pursued.
Where the pages are served from, and what that transfers
Railway Corporation (548 Market Street, PMB 68956, San Francisco, CA 94104, United States) hosts these pages, and Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States) delivers them. Both companies are established in the United States, so opening any page here necessarily involves a transfer to that country. Access logs of our own are neither kept nor analysed; where either provider retains logs for technical reasons, that provider's own privacy policy governs them.
What we collect
Nothing that names you. There is no advertising cookie, no tracking pixel, no account to open, no comment box and no newsletter.
What reaches the server
Exactly two things here are built for each request rather than served as ready-made files: the affiliate redirect and the live price lookup. Both read your approximate country — from a header our CDN supplies, or failing that from the language your browser announces — so that a link lands on the right Amazon store in the right currency. That country goes into the response and is written down nowhere.
Any web server has to receive your IP address in order to answer you, and ours is no exception. It is not logged to a database, not used to build a profile, and not passed to anyone.
What changes once you follow a link to Amazon
A "Check price" button takes you off this site, and from that point Amazon's own privacy policy is the one that applies. Amazon sets a cookie so that a resulting purchase is credited to us. Who you are, which tent or headlamp you ordered and what you paid for it never reach us — only a count of orders, in aggregate, weeks afterwards.
Third parties
The fonts come from this site's own domain, so your browser asks no third party for them. A live price is fetched by our server from a price-history service, never by your browser, which is why that service never sees you at all.
Your rights
There is no personal data here to reach into: nothing that could be shown to you, nothing to correct, nothing to erase. If you believe otherwise, write and it will be looked into.
The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority stands in any case (Article 77 GDPR). The publisher is established in France, which makes that authority the CNIL — Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France. Readers living in another member state may address the authority of their own country of residence just as well.
