Clostnature one-person freestanding tent with aluminium poles review

A one-person tent that publishes the figure most listings skip — 5000 mm on the floor — and leaves the flysheet without a water column of its own.

The bottom line The only tent here to publish a floor figure and no fly figure, which is the reverse of the usual omission. For one person on damp ground that is the more useful half; for driving rain, the missing fly number is a real gap.

What this listing puts on record

A 220 × 81 × 91 cm size for one person, a stated weight of 1.9 kg, a packed size of 38 × 13 × 13 cm, a polyester rainfly, a bathtub floor with a PU 5000 coating, mesh inner walls, a side vestibule, aluminium poles, and a full contents list: carry bag, inner, fly, two aluminium poles, four guylines, fourteen aluminium pegs and a pole repair sleeve.

The half that is published

PU 5000 on the floor. Most listings on this shelf publish one water column and let you assume it covers everything. This one attaches its figure specifically to the bathtub floor — the panel your body weight presses into wet ground.

And the half that is not. The rainfly is described only as polyester. No millimetres, no coating type. So the number you have describes the ground, and the number you would also want, for the panel the rain lands on, is absent.

The weight, and what it may or may not include

1.9 kg is published without the word trail or packed beside it. The contents list runs to fourteen aluminium pegs, four guylines and a repair sleeve — several hundred grams of difference depending on whether they are in that figure. Treat it as the packed weight and you will not be disappointed on the trail.

Before ordering

81 cm across is a genuine one-person floor. A wide sleeping mat at 70 cm leaves very little either side, and a 25 cm pack sleeps in the vestibule rather than beside you.

Availability

Selling between 55 € and 75 € across the German, French and Spanish Amazon stores when this page was checked.

It also sells on the British Amazon store in the local currency, which the range above does not cover — that range counts euro stores and nothing else.

The Italian Amazon price sits more than 1.6× above the cheapest store. That gap usually means a reshipper rather than a local seller, so that listing is kept out of the range above.

Nothing came back from the American Amazon store, so the buy link there opens a local search instead of a page that is not there.

What it does well, and where it gives way

Strengths

  • Publishes a PU 5000 coating for the bathtub floor, which is the figure that decides a night on wet ground
  • States freestanding construction with two aluminium poles, and lists every item in the box down to the pole repair sleeve
  • Gives the sleeping box at 220 × 81 × 91 cm and a packed size of 38 × 13 × 13 cm

Compromises

  • No water column at all for the flysheet, so the panel that takes the rain is the one without a number
  • The 1.9 kg is unlabelled, and the box contains 14 pegs and a repair sleeve that may or may not be in it
  • No denier for either fabric, so how thin the 1.9 kg is bought at cannot be read off the page

What people ask before buying

What is a bathtub floor?

A groundsheet whose edges run up the walls before any seam appears, so the seams sit above ground level rather than in the puddle. It is the construction detail that makes a floor figure meaningful, and this listing names both.

Does freestanding mean the pegs are optional?

It means the tent holds its shape without them, which helps on a wooden platform or a hard pitch. It does not mean it stays put in wind, and this one still supplies 14 pegs and four guylines for that reason.
