Two accessories, one editorial habit

Both of these are things you buy for a stove you already own, and both listings lead with the question that decides whether they will work. The cartridge names a standard screw thread to EN 417. The windshield names a maximum pot diameter of 11 cm. Those two lines are the reason to read these pages rather than the photographs, because on that shelf the fitting is usually shown and not stated.

The cartridge is precise about its contents

The gas mix is written as three proportions rather than a list of names: 50 per cent butane, 25 per cent isobutane, 25 per cent propane. Very little on that shelf puts a number against all three components. The fill is 100 g, which is a size a solo walker can finish over a weekend rather than carry home half empty, and EN 417 means it can be matched to a stove by standard instead of by appearance.

The windshield is the light option, and specific about what it fits

It states 87 g, in the title, and hard-anodised aluminium rather than plain aluminium. Its 11 cm pot limit is a genuine compatibility statement — something you can check against the pan already in your kit — and it clips onto the stove and pot rather than standing as a wall around the whole cooking area, which is a different arrangement and worth understanding before ordering.

The measurements neither page gives

The cartridge publishes no diameter and no height, so whether it nests inside a pot cannot be read here, and no gross weight, so the steel carried alongside the gas is unstated. One of its bullets describes a stove that folds into a canister hollow, and that description applies to the 230 g and 450 g sizes rather than to this one. The windshield publishes no panel height, no length and no packed size at all — the pot diameter is the only figure to plan around — and the only equipment it names is the maker’s own cook set.
