The kiximay is the bag to take if the walk from the car is part of the trip: backpack straps, a shoulder strap and a hand carry are all stated, the zips are stated waterproof, and 24 plus hours is on the page with no conditions attached to it. What it never publishes is how thick the five layers are.
The Lifewit publishes the only insulation thickness in this hub, 8 mm of EPE foam under an aluminium foil lining and inside a 1680D Oxford shell, plus its own outside dimensions. It publishes no retention figure whatsoever, so the number most people shop on is the one it leaves out.
Only one of them publishes a figure, so the question has half an answer at best. kiximay states 24 plus hours with nothing behind it — no fill ratio, no ambient temperature, no quantity of ice — and Lifewit states nothing at all. An open-ended figure with no conditions is not a duration you can plan a weekend around.
It is at least a measurement rather than a count, which is why the thickness line goes to Lifewit. But a thickness with no retention figure and a retention figure with no thickness are two halves of a specification, and neither maker publishes the other half. Between them they nearly make one complete listing.
