A transparent professional tent repair tape, 8 cm wide and 5 m long, made from PET film with an adhesive the listing credits to the United States. It is stated to be developed specifically for PVC-coated tents and similar fabrics, and named for awnings, gazebos and covers. The listing gives a temperature range of −60 to 300 °C, calls the tape waterproof, rot-proof, flexible and high in tensile strength, and sets out the method: clean and dry the surface, overlap the damage by at least 25 mm in every direction, smooth from the centre outwards without trapping air, and allow 24 hours to cure.

It names the coating, and that is the whole point

This is the compatibility question in this family, and six of the seven kits here dodge it. They list the objects a patch can go on — tents, jackets, rucksacks, sleeping bags — and never the coating the adhesive was formulated against.

This one says PVC. That is a real answer, and it is also a limit: PVC is the coating of caravan awnings, gazebos and tarpaulins, not of a silicone-coated trekking flysheet.

Five metres, and you decide the shape

The longest strip in this hub, in one 8 cm width. Nothing is pre-cut, so a long seam gets a long piece and a pinhole gets a small one.

The method is published

Clean, dry, overlap by at least 25 mm on every side, smooth outwards, wait a day. That last instruction is the one people skip, and it is in the listing rather than in a forum.
