Same badge, two different bodies
This is the trap on this page, and it is worth reading twice. The BACHGOLD filter reviewed here is the Selfpress bottle, a 500 ml press-through unit. The BACHGOLD cartridge listed here is the replacement element for the maker’s Squeeze filter — a different housing. One brand, two different bodies, and the spare part on this site does not go into the bottle on this site. Check the name on your own filter before the order goes in.
The media are named, which is unusual
Most cartridge listings on that shelf say the word filter and stop. Both BACHGOLD pages go further. The bottle names a hollow-fibre membrane with an activated carbon filter and states a 1500 litre cartridge life. The Squeeze element names two stages in order — an electro-adsorptive nanofibre layer, then a 0.2 micron hollow-fibre membrane — which tells you what the element is built to do rather than asserting a result.
Two ways of writing the same number
The bottle publishes its pore size as “up to 0.2 micron”. The Squeeze element publishes it flat, at 0.2 micron, with nothing in front of it. That difference is small on the page and large in meaning: “up to” is a ceiling with a hedge attached, and a bare figure is a claim the maker is prepared to stand behind. Both figures are the maker’s, and this site does not treat either as evidence that a source is safe to drink from. Potability is a matter for the maker’s own instructions and for local advice, not for a listing.
What neither page will tell you
No flow rate on either. No weight on either. No thread standard, so the element can only be ordered by housing name and never by fitting. The Squeeze element publishes no rated capacity at all, which is the figure that turns a cartridge price into a cost per litre, and it gives no cleaning method for a part the maker expects to be reused. On the bottle, 500 ml is a short carry with no weight published beside it.
