Naturehike FT11 roll-up table review

The only adjustable table in this group and the largest top by a wide margin — and the one whose own bullet gives its weight as 59 pounds when it means 5.9.

On the maker’s own page

A height-adjustable camping table, ultralight aluminum, roll-up, with a carry bag.

Naturehike states corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy, strong and stable; adjustable height settings with hooks for hanging small items such as bin bags and camping bowls; a table surface of 29.7” × 21.8”, a high support of 17.5”H × 23.8”W × 17.3”D and a low support of 13.6”H × 24.4”W × 22”D, a loading capacity of 65LBS (30KG) and a weight of “59LBS(2.7KG)”; a protective Oxford cloth storage bag; and a one-year warranty.

No packed size. No foot design.

Fifty-nine pounds, for two point seven kilograms

A decimal point, gone.

Two point seven kilograms is 5.9 pounds. The shipping weight agrees with the metric figure, at about 2.68 kilograms.

An American reader takes the pound number first, and fifty-nine pounds would be absurd on a shelf whose heaviest table is 2.7 kilograms. This page reads the kilogram figure, and says why.

Two heights

What nothing else in this group can do.

Seventeen and a half inches, and thirteen point six. Forty-four centimeters and thirty-five, with the support width and depth published for each setting.

This shelf’s introduction makes height the second decision and warns that a table bought at the wrong height gets used once. Thirty-five centimeters is a low table in front of a backpacking chair; forty-four is a height to stand a stove at.

Every other table in this group is fixed, between 11.4 inches and 25.1.

Seventy-five by fifty-five centimeters

Twice the area of anything else here.

The next largest top in this group is 51 centimeters square. This is a table two people eat at.

That is what a roll-up slat top buys, and this shelf’s introduction names the difference: a roll-top slat table folds to a completely different shape from a rigid two-fold panel. The slats roll into a bundle, so a large area packs without a large flat face.

And then no packed size

The figure this shelf’s buying tip exists for.

Measure the boot space left once the tent is in, because packed length rules out more tables than any other figure. Three of the seven tables in this group publish nothing to measure, and this is the largest of the three.

Naturehike’s instructions carry the assembly and the load rating. Nothing here replaces them, and nothing on this page describes any product as safe.

What it does well, and where it gives way

Strengths

  • The only height-adjustable table in this group, with both support dimensions published
  • The largest top here by a wide margin: 75 × 55 cm (29.5 × 21.7 in) against 48 cm (18.9 in) square at the next
  • Publishes its load rating in both units, 65 lbs and 30 kg (66.1 lb)
  • A roll-up aluminum slat top, which is the format this shelf's introduction says packs to a different shape entirely
  • Hooks for bin bags and bowls, published as part of the design
  • A protective Oxford storage bag supplied
  • A one-year warranty stated in the listing itself

Compromises

  • Its own bullet publishes the weight as "59LBS(2.7KG)" — a tenfold error in the pound figure
  • No packed dimensions, which this shelf's buying tip makes the figure that rules out most tables
  • No foot design, on a table with two leg settings for uneven pitches
  • Neither of the two heights reaches a chair: 17.5 inches is the taller setting
  • "Corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy" names no alloy number
  • The fifth bullet is a warranty statement rather than a specification

What people ask before buying

Does it weigh 59 pounds or 2.7 kilograms?

Two point seven kilograms, which is about 5.9 pounds. The third bullet reads "weighs only 59LBS(2.7KG)" — the decimal point has gone from the pound figure, and the result is ten times the truth. The shipping weight of about 2.68 kilograms agrees with the metric figure. It matters because an American reader takes the pound number first, and a 59-pound camp table would be absurd on a shelf where the heaviest is 2.7 kilograms. This page reads the kilogram figure and says why.

What do two heights give you?

The one thing this shelf's introduction says most tables cannot do. It makes height the second decision and warns that a table bought at the wrong height gets used once; this table has two settings, 17.5 inches and 13.6, with the support dimensions published for each. Thirty-five centimeters is a low table in front of a backpacking chair, and 44 is a cooking height to stand a stove at. No other table in this group adjusts, and this group runs from a fixed 11.4 inches to a fixed 25.1.

How big is the top?

Seventy-five by fifty-five centimeters, which is more than twice the area of anything else in this group — the next largest is 51 centimeters square. That is a table two people can eat at rather than put drinks on, and it is what a roll-up slat top buys: the slats roll into a bundle instead of folding as a panel, so a large area packs without a large flat face. What the listing then does not publish is the packed size, which is exactly the figure this shelf's buying tip asks for.
