Alpenwert 2 litre reservoir with drinking hose, 3 litre version stated review

A 2 litre reservoir sold with a hose, whose listing publishes the capacity and then almost nothing else — no opening type, no film, no valve, no fittings and no weight.

The bottom line Two litres, a hose, and a listing that leaves ten of eleven questions unanswered. The gap is the finding, and it is printed above rather than filled in.

What this listing puts on record

A BPA-free material, a 2 L and a 3 L version, an ultralight and compact description, a claim of resistance to cracks and leaks, a drinking hose, a large opening for filling and cleaning, and a statement that it fits into any rucksack.

What that leaves

Ten of the eleven columns this hub compares on are empty. No opening type. No fill port width. No hose diameter and no hose length. No bite valve. No shut-off. No coupling. No film named beyond BPA-free. No seam construction. No weight.

That is not an accident of this page. It is what the maker chose to publish, and printing it as a row of unanswered questions is more useful than describing the listing’s adjectives as though they were measurements.

The one thing a shopper can act on

Two litres, and a 3 L version. Capacity decides how much water you carry, and it is the specification the maker is clearest about. Everything that decides whether the reservoir survives a season — the opening, the film, the fittings — is unstated.

Before ordering

If you are replacing a reservoir, ask the seller two questions: what shape the opening is, and whether the hose detaches at the reservoir. Neither is answerable from the listing, and both change how the thing is lived with.

What it does well, and where it gives way

Strengths

  • The capacity is clear, and both the 2 L and 3 L versions are named
  • A drinking hose is included rather than sold separately
  • Stated to fit rucksacks with a reservoir provision, which is the compatibility question most people are asking

Compromises

  • Ten of the eleven columns compared here are unpublished, which is the emptiest sheet on this shelf
  • The opening is called large and never described, so whether it can be turned back and dried is unknown
  • Nothing is published about the valve, the coupling or the film, so what you are buying beyond two litres of volume is left open

What people ask before buying

Is a large opening enough to go on?

It sets no bound at all. A slide top and a 40 mm screw port are both described as large by somebody, and only one of them can be turned back and hung to dry. The word without a shape or a width is not a specification.

Does the hose have a bite valve?

The listing does not say. It states a drinking hose and says hydration on the move is easy, and it never names a valve, a lock or a coupling. That is a question for the seller before ordering.
