Sckee ZDHWMT-01 folding toilet review

The flattest folding toilet in this group — under three inches packed — with a 450-pound rating, a phone tray, a paper holder and the bag size it takes published in gallons.

On the maker’s own page

A portable folding camping toilet with a lid and a paper holder.

Sckee states heavy-duty ABS plastic supporting up to 450 lbs with a contoured ergonomic seat to eliminate thigh pinch and a 12-inch extra-long seat opening, 20 per cent longer than previous models, and a note that the toilet fits 12 gallon bags; folding to 14.1 × 12.6 × 2.7 inches at only 4.5 lbs, 60 per cent smaller than a 5-gallon bucket, with a storage bag; stain-resistant, odor-proof plastic with a stay-up lid, supplied with garbage bags and bio gel to solidify liquid waste; a built-in tray for a phone, wipes or a torch and a universal paper holder; and contents of one toilet, one detachable phone tray, one built-in paper holder, one roll of twelve waste bags, twelve poo gels, a storage bag and instructions.

No seat height. No seal arrangement. No waste volume.

Two point seven inches

The figure that decides where it lives.

Folded, it is 14.1 by 12.6 by 2.7 — and the listing puts it against the right comparison: 60 per cent smaller than a five-gallon bucket.

That comparison is fair. A pail does not fold, so a bucket and a snap-on seat take their full height in the boot permanently.

Among the complete toilets in this group this is the flattest. The aluminum one and the XXL publish no packed size at all.

Twelve gallon bags

The consumable, in a unit a supermarket sells.

This shelf’s introduction makes the bucket-and-liner type entirely dependent on the bags, and a bag that does not fit is a toilet that does not work.

The other two listings here that specify a bag do it differently: one gives 31.5 by 35.5 inches, one says the bags withstand 11 to 13 pounds. Three listings, three units, no comparison.

Twelve gallons is 45 liters, which is far more liner than one use puts in it.

A seat opening, not a seat height

Twelve inches, and 20 per cent longer than before.

That is a comfort figure, and a useful one: the opening length decides whether an adult sits comfortably, and the contoured edge is what stops the thigh pinch the bullet names.

It is not the height this shelf’s introduction asks for, which decides whether standing up again is easy. The same maker’s XXL publishes 16 inches; this one publishes none.

A tray, and a holder

The two fittings counted in the contents.

A detachable phone tray for a torch or wipes, and a universal paper holder — both listed as separate items rather than described, which is how a contents list becomes checkable on arrival.

Sckee’s instructions carry the bags and the load rating. Nothing here replaces them, and nothing on this page describes any product as safe.

What it does well, and where it gives way

Strengths

  • Folds to 2.7 inches thick, the flattest pack among the complete toilets in this group
  • Publishes the bag size it takes — 12 gallon — which only two other listings here specify at all
  • A 450-pound rating with a contoured seat stated to avoid thigh pinch
  • Publishes the seat opening length, 12 inches, and that it is 20 per cent longer than before
  • A detachable phone tray and a universal paper holder, both counted in the contents
  • Twelve bags and twelve gel packs, matched one to one
  • A stay-up lid, like a household toilet
  • A compact storage bag included

Compromises

  • No seat height published, which is the comfort figure on this shelf
  • A 12-gallon bag is 45 liters of liner on a toilet nobody fills
  • No seal arrangement published beyond a stay-up lid
  • No waste capacity as a volume, only the bag size it accepts
  • Five of its five bullets open with an emoji and a bracketed heading
  • "Camp comfort that rivals your home bathroom" is the seller’s claim, with no figure behind it

What people ask before buying

How flat does it fold?

Two point seven inches, which is the figure that decides where it lives between trips. The listing puts it against the alternative — 60 per cent smaller than a five-gallon bucket folded — and that comparison is fair: a bucket does not fold at all, so a rigid pail and a snap-on seat take their full height in the boot permanently. Among the complete toilets in this group this is the flattest; the aluminum one publishes no packed size, and the XXL publishes none either.

Why does the bag size matter?

Because this shelf's introduction makes the bucket-and-liner type entirely dependent on the bags, and a bag that does not fit is a toilet that does not work. This listing publishes 12 gallon, which is a standard bin-liner size sold everywhere. The other two listings in this group that specify a bag do it differently — one gives 31.5 by 35.5 inches, one says the bags withstand 11 to 13 pounds — so three listings specify the same consumable in three units that cannot be compared. Twelve gallons is 45 liters, which is far more liner than the contents of one use.

What does it publish instead of a seat height?

A seat opening: 12 inches long, stated 20 per cent longer than previous models, with a contoured seat said to eliminate thigh pinch. Those are comfort figures of a different kind and they are genuinely useful — the opening length is what decides whether an adult sits comfortably. What they are not is the height this shelf's introduction asks for, which decides whether standing up again is easy. Three toilets in this group publish a height; this is not one of them, and the XXL from the same maker publishes 16 inches.
